Dear coordinator,

I dont think, less activity means the end for orglist. its the responsibility of the users to keep it live and alive. I am ready to initiate and contribute in funding rising (if required to keep it alive) and i hope that the other users too want orglist to continue.

regards

Hi

I have posted to this site. My interests are in organic chemistry. I hope the list continues -

I hope others vote to keep the list. How many members are there enrolled?

Thank you for all of your work

Dear ORGLIST members

ORGLIST has been operating under my coordination since 1997. Between 2000 and 2006 the list traffic maintained an average of ca. 1 message/day, and has declined since then. In 2010 and 2011 we are observing almost no activity.

Other tools are nowadays available for virtual interaction, but I won't invest in changing the ORGLIST framework, neither in promoting the list. And time has arrived for domain renewal. I see no meaning in maintaining it.

If there are no better ideas, we will shut down the list in April, and probably keep the archive accessible in some web site.

Your ORGLIST coordinator
Joao Aires de Sousa

Dear Joao,
You were one of the first (if not the first) mailing lists in Organic Chemistry. It is sad but we all are to blame for the decreasing participation. Many seemed to have moved on to more evolved & less simple networking methods. Please do accept my gratitude for allowing me to be a part of the list.
It is a choice one has to make, but we live in hope and I personally look forward to some news that you have been motivated to continue.
Till then, all the best.
Best regards,
Jd.
