Dear all,
I am a theoretical/computational chemist. I subscribed this list to search it or to submit questions just in case I need help on organic chemists' matters.
	So, please, keep it alive!

Best wishes
Caterina Ghio

Hi All,

I have found this list to be very useful over the last couple of years while
I've been in grad school. I would completely support the creation of a new
list/forum and I would even consider co-managing the list if help was
wanted.

Best wishes to everyone with their research!

Lucy

Kudos Joao- you did a commendable job.
True we now have access to sites like LinkedIn- it will be a good idea to
tranfer to a free resource

Thank you Joao for kipping this list alive for such a long time with great
 success.

I agree. A couple of points:

 1) is anyone interested in setting up a new list?
 2) How many people on this list for organic chemists are interested in a
 new list?
 3) I have found sometimes messages do not go to my inbox. We should always
 check that.

I'm glad to contribute and also for the contributions.

 Best

 Dear Joao,
You were one of the first (if not the first) mailing lists in Organic
Chemistry. It is sad but we all are to blame for the decreasing
participation. Many seemed to have moved on to more evolved & less simple
networking methods. Please do accept my gratitude for allowing me to be a
 part of the list.
It is a choice one has to make, but we live in hope and I personally look
forward to some news that you have been motivated to continue.
 Till then, all the best.
 Best regards,
 Jd.

I would be happy to create a forum system such as the one I use in my organic chemistry course here:

http://organicchemistry.freeforums.org/

It is free and easy to use. I believe I can set it up such that folks are emailed when a new posting is put on the forum. The nice thing about a forum rather than an email distribution list is that the discussions remain permanently, and can be searched. It would be nice to know if there is general interest in such a form or not before I went through the (little bit) of work required to set it up!

Thanks,

Hi Gary and Lucy

I would be interested in joining such a forum for organic chemistry students/instructors; and would try to post from time to time with details of upcoming conferences (ACS for example).

Best wishes.
